FAQ

Billing: your questions answered

Where you bought a plan decides where you manage it. Plans bought on the website are paid through Stripe and managed on the Billing page; plans bought in the iPhone or Android app are billed and managed by Apple or Google. These answers cover cancelling in each place, what happens afterwards, receipts, payment problems and charges you did not expect.

First search free. No account needed. Updated November 6, 2026 by The FaceSearch Team.

What each plan includes is in the plans and credits FAQ and on pricing. Deleting your account is a separate step from cancelling: see delete your account. Card details never pass through FaceSearch; payments on the website are handled by Stripe.

Questions

01Where am I billed?

By whoever sold you the plan. On the website, the Billing page takes you through a Stripe checkout and shows your current plan, its price and its renewal date. In the iPhone app, Apple bills you through the App Store; in the Android app, Google bills you through Google Play. The plan and credits are the same everywhere; only the billing relationship differs.

02How do I cancel a plan bought on the website?

Sign in, open Billing and choose cancel. Auto-renewal stops immediately and the page confirms the date your plan ends. You keep the plan and its remaining credits until then, and no refund is made for the current period. It can take a minute for the cancellation to show on the page.

03How do I cancel a plan bought in the app?

In the store that billed you, not in FaceSearch. On an iPhone or iPad: Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then FaceSearch. On Android: open Google Play, Menu, then Subscriptions. If you try to cancel a store subscription from the Billing page, it tells you to cancel in the store instead, because only the store can stop its own billing.

04What happens after I cancel?

Nothing changes until the end of the period you paid for: the plan stays active and the credits stay usable. On the end date the account moves to the Free plan. Your History, saved scans and account stay as they are; cancelling never deletes data. You can choose a plan again at any time from Billing.

05Where is my receipt?

For website payments, the payment confirmation arrives by email from our payment processor after each charge; keep it as your receipt. For app purchases, Apple or Google email their own receipts and list every charge in your store account. FaceSearch does not issue separate invoices; if you need one for a tax claim, email support@facesearch.cc with the date and amount.

06How do I change my payment method?

For a website plan, open Billing; the subscription is managed there, including the card on file. For a store plan, update the payment method in your Apple ID or Google Play settings, which apply to every subscription in that store. Changing the method does not change the plan or its renewal date.

07My payment failed. What happens?

Your account page shows a payment problem notice asking you to update your billing details, and until a payment goes through the plan may show as not active, which pauses searches that need it. Fix the card on the Billing page, or in the store for a store plan, and the plan resumes once the charge succeeds. Email support@facesearch.cc if it still shows a problem after that.

08There is a charge I do not recognise

Email support@facesearch.cc from the address on your FaceSearch account with the date, the amount and the last digits of the card, and we look into it the same working day. Charges made through the App Store or Google Play are reviewed and refunded by Apple or Google; report those through your store account as well.

09Which currency am I charged in?

Website plans are priced in US dollars; your bank converts at its own rate if your card is in another currency. App Store and Google Play show prices in your local currency, set by Apple or Google for your storefront, which is why a store price can differ slightly from the website price.

10Is tax included?

Any sales tax or VAT that applies in your country is shown at checkout before you confirm, so the total you see is the total you pay. Store purchases include tax the way every purchase in that store does. If you need the tax split out for your records, the payment confirmation email shows it.

11Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?

No. Deleting the account removes your data but does not stop a subscription billed by Apple or Google, and web billing should be cancelled from the Billing page first. Cancel, wait for the confirmation, then delete the account. The delete your account page lists the order of steps.
