Lenso.ai alternatives: face search without the region lock
Lenso.ai is an image search suite with a People category, filters, alerts and an API. People look for an alternative when face search is not available in their region, when the Starter plan buys features they do not need, or when they want a face-first engine instead of a general image tool. This list ranks the options by a disclosed rubric and dates every price.
First search free. No account needed. Updated November 6, 2026 by The FaceSearch Team. Prices checked on November 6, 2026.
Why people look for a Lenso.ai alternative
Lenso.ai does several things well. It searches by image across categories (People, Places, Duplicates, Similar and Related), it filters results by domain, date, language and size, it has a Research Mode on the Professional plan that returns far more results, it sends email alerts, and it sells a developer API. The reasons people leave are mostly about fit rather than quality.
- Face search is region-locked. Lenso's own face search page carries the footnote "Facial search is available only in selected regions", and it does not say which regions. Outside them the People category is simply missing, and you have paid for an image search suite when you wanted a face engine.
- Starter buys breadth you may not need. Starter is sold as unlimited searches with source links for up to 50 results, ten email alerts and no watermark. The vendor's pricing page lists what each plan contains and shows the amount only at checkout; reviews we checked put Starter from $15.99 a month. If your question is where one face appears, most of that is unused.
- Unlocks are counted. The source link is the useful part of a result, and Lenso meters them: 50 unlocks on Starter, 500 on Professional. One thorough self-search can use a month's allowance in an afternoon.
- It is an image search suite first. People sits beside Places, Duplicates and Similar. That is right for a photographer tracing a stolen image and wrong for someone who only ever searches a face.
- Removal is a form, and it covers Lenso only. Lenso publishes an opt-out form and a DMCA route and says requests are reviewed on business days, usually within 24 hours. That is better than most. It still removes you from one engine, not from the others and not from the sites that host the photo.
- Web only. There is no Lenso app. People who check a dating photo from a phone want an app, or at least a site built for one.
Is Lenso.ai free?
Partly. You can run searches without paying and see previews, and the pricing page itself asks what to do when you run out of free search credits. The source links, filters, alerts and Research Mode sit on the paid plans. A free Lenso search therefore tells you that matches exist and charges you to open them, the same shape as a free PimEyes search. Several engines below show more on their free tier. FaceSearch's first search is free with no account, the top results are visible, and every source link is unlocked on any paid plan from $5 a week.
The alternatives, ranked
Ranked by the rubric above for the two reasons people most often leave Lenso.ai: they are outside its face search regions, or they want a face engine at a lower price without the suite around it. Lenso itself sits at the end for reference.
- Ours1. FaceSearchA face-first engine available wherever we operate, with a free first search and the cheapest paid entry we know of: Starter is $5 a week for five normal and three deep searches with every source link unlocked. Public web only, no face database built from uploads, free removal by email. No alerts, filters or API, so if those are why you chose Lenso, read on.
- 2. PimEyesThe broadest open-web face index by most accounts, with alerts and a takedown service on its paid tiers, which makes it the closest match for Lenso's alert users. $29.99 a month for Open Plus and $79.99 for PROtect, free searches without source links, and an opt-out that requires an ID scan.
- 3. FaceCheck.IDBest when the photo comes from a dating app or a social profile and the quality is poor. Free searches show source links. Paid use is credit packs from $19 for 150 credits that expire after 14 days, at 3 credits a search, with crypto among the payment options.
- 4. Face Search AIThree free searches a day without an account, plans from $7.77 a month, and an API from $50 a month, which is the nearest substitute for Lenso's Developer plan at the low end. A separate company from FaceSearch despite the similar name.
- 5. Yandex ImagesFree, worldwide, and often the strongest free option for finding a face because of what it indexes. It matches images rather than faces, so it misses different photos of the same person, and it has no alerts.
- 6. Eyematch.aiA newer face-first entrant with a free preview, paid plans, and published opt-out and DMCA routes. Less documentation and a shorter track record than the engines above.
- 7. Reversely.aiThe closest thing to Lenso's suite: a reverse image search with a face tool, an AI-image detector and reverse video search, in 15 languages. Pricing is $9.99 per unlocked result, which gets expensive past a couple of searches.
- 8. Google LensFree and the right first step for copies of an exact picture, which covers Lenso's Duplicates and Similar categories for most people. Deliberately weak at identifying people.
- 9. TinEyeFree, image-only, and the best tool for tracing where one picture originated and how it was edited. If you used Lenso's Duplicates category for copyright work, TinEye does that job, and sells an API to businesses.
- 10. Bing Visual SearchFree, image-based, and occasionally finds copies the others miss. Not a face engine.
- 11. Social CatfishA people-search report service with a face-matching image search inside it, sold as a trial that converts to a monthly subscription. Useful when you want a report on a person, not a list of pages.
- 12. Search4FacesFree face search limited to VK, Odnoklassniki, TikTok and Clubhouse profiles. Relevant for Russian-speaking social networks and irrelevant elsewhere.
- 13. ProFaceFinderA small paid face search engine with a limited index. Worth a look only when the larger engines come back empty.
- Lenso.ai, for referenceAn image search suite with a People category that is only offered in selected regions, metered source-link unlocks, filters, Research Mode, alerts and an API. Plan contents are listed on its pricing page and the amount is shown at checkout; reviews put Starter from $15.99 a month.

How to pick
Your region has no Lenso face search
You want a face engine that works where you are. FaceSearch, PimEyes and FaceCheck.ID all search from any country, and Face Search AI states its exclusions on its site. Run the free search on each with the same photo and keep the one that finds the page you expected.
You only ever search a face
Skip the suites. A reverse face search engine does one job, and the cheapest way in is FaceSearch Starter at $5 a week, or FaceCheck.ID's free tier if the photo comes from a dating app. Keep Google Lens open in another tab for exact copies; it is free and it is better at that one job than any face engine.
You want alerts and filters
This is the honest gap. FaceSearch has no alerts; a creator or public figure on our service sets a weekly reminder and searches by hand, as the creators page describes. PimEyes sells alerts and a takedown service on its paid tiers at $29.99 to $79.99 a month, which is where Lenso's alert users usually land.
You want an API
FaceSearch does not sell one. Face Search AI offers an API from $50 a month; TinEye sells an image-matching API to businesses; Reversely.ai has an enterprise programme. If the API was the reason you chose Lenso, those are the comparisons to make.
You trace stolen images rather than faces
Photographers and brands who used Lenso's Duplicates category are better served, and for free, by TinEye for the origin of a picture and Google Lens for where it was republished. The takedown guide covers what to do once you have the URLs.
If you leave Lenso.ai
- Cancel the renewal in your Lenso account before the current period ends; cancelling does not refund the period already paid.
- Export or screenshot any saved collections and result URLs you still need. They are gone once the account is.
- Submit Lenso's image opt-out form so your face stops matching in its index. The Lenso.ai opt-out guide walks through it; Lenso says one face photo removes all matching images.
- Ask Lenso's Data Protection Officer, named on its privacy protection page, to delete your account data if you want more than a cancellation.
- Run a self-search on the engine you move to, so you know what it shows before you need it.
