FAQ
Removal: your questions answered
Anyone can have their face hidden from FaceSearch results, for free, by email, with or without an account. These answers cover how to ask, what we need from you, how long it takes, and the limits: removal hides results here, it does not delete the photo from the website that published it or from other search engines.
First search free. No account needed. Updated November 5, 2026 by The FaceSearch Team.
The full request flow is on remove my photos. For getting a photo taken down from the site that published it, see the takedown guide and how to remove your photos from the internet. To opt out of other engines, our guides cover PimEyes and FaceCheck.ID.
Questions
01How do I request removal?
Run a search for your own face on the search page and note the result URLs you want hidden. Then email contact@facesearch.cc with the subject "Remove my photos", one clear front-facing photo of your face attached, and the URLs if you have them. If you do not have the URLs, the photo alone is enough and we run the search ourselves.
02Does removal cost anything?
No. Removal is free for everyone, with or without an account, and there is no paid tier or faster queue. You do not need to give a reason, and you do not need a plan. Asking for removal does not use any credits and does not affect an account you already have.
03Do I need to prove the face is mine?
Usually one clear photo of your face is enough. We only ask for more when a request is disputed, for example when two people claim the same face or a request looks like an attempt to hide someone else. In that case we ask for a redacted ID that shows your face and name and nothing else, and we delete the copy after the check.
04How long does removal take?
We aim to confirm within five business days of a complete request. If we need something from you first, such as a clearer photo, we reply with that question. You get an email when the removal is in place, and you can reply to it at any time to ask about status.
05What does removal do, and what does it not do?
It hides your face from future search results on FaceSearch, for every user. It does not delete the photo from the website that published it, and it does not affect Google, PimEyes, FaceCheck.ID or any other engine, each of which has its own opt-out. The takedown guide and the opt-out guides cover those routes.
06What if a photo reappears?
Results we have hidden stay hidden. A photo republished later under a new URL, or on a new site, can appear as a new result because it is a new page. Email us the new URL and we hide that too. There is no limit on how often you can ask, and the earlier removal stays in force.
07Can I request removal for someone else?
Yes, case by case. A parent or guardian for a child, a relative for someone who has died, a carer or legal representative for an adult who cannot act for themselves. Email contact@facesearch.cc, explain the relationship, attach one clear photo of the person, and expect us to ask for a document that shows the relationship before we act.
08I own the copyright in a photo. Can I have it removed?
Yes. Email contact@facesearch.cc, say that it is a copyright request, give the result URLs and explain why you hold the rights, for example that you took the photo. We remove the matching results from FaceSearch. Removing the photo from the site that published it is a separate notice to that site or its host, which the takedown guide explains.
