FaceSearch vs ProFaceFinder

ProFaceFinder is a small face search engine that sells one-time credit packs instead of a subscription: $7.95 for two searches or $11.95 for five, after a free preview that shows blurred candidates and a match count. FaceSearch runs a free first search and then sells a $5 week with every source link. Here is how they compare on price per search, what the free tier shows, removal and limits.

First search free. No account needed. Updated November 6, 2026 by The FaceSearch Team. Prices checked on November 6, 2026.

ProFaceFinder makes sense if you want exactly one or two searches with no subscription at all and are happy to pay about $4 each. FaceSearch costs less per search from the first paid week, shows you a real first result before you pay, and adds deep search, apps and a free removal email. Both are honest that a match is a lead, not an identity.

What ProFaceFinder offers

ProFaceFinder's home page describes an AI face finder that looks for similar faces in an index of publicly accessible images: blogs, news archives, press releases, modelling portfolios, stock photo sites, open forums such as Reddit and publicly indexed profiles. It says it does not reach private accounts, locked profiles, encrypted chats or government records. The free preview tells you whether a face was detected and whether it appears in the index, with blurred thumbnails and an estimated count; unblurring and source URLs cost credits, sold as one-time packs with no subscription.

Two things on its pages deserve credit. It says plainly that a similarity score is an investigative aid, not proof of identity, which matches what we say on reading your results. And its opt-out page is an email with a clear list of what to send and a stated 7 to 10 business day response, which is more than several larger engines publish.

Where ProFaceFinder wins

  • No subscription at all. Two searches for $7.95 and you are done; nothing renews.
  • A published removal timeline of 7 to 10 business days.
  • A preview that reports a match count before you pay, so you know whether paying is worth it.
  • Plain language about what a score means, which not every face engine manages.

Where FaceSearch wins

  • Price per search. A $5 Starter week buys five searches with every link, about $1 each, against roughly $2.40 to $4 per search on ProFaceFinder's packs, and Daily Pro drops the per-search cost further for regular use.
  • A real first result, free. Not a blurred preview: the first search shows the top matches with no account.
  • Deep search for a wider pass over the public web, with top-ups on Daily Pro and Business.
  • Apps on iOS and Android and a history of saved scans you can return to or delete.
  • Take-down help on Business, and a removal email with no 7 to 10 day wait stated; we aim to confirm within five business days.

Switching from ProFaceFinder to FaceSearch

  1. Spend any credits you have already bought; they are one-time packs and do not renew, so there is nothing to cancel.
  2. Run a free search on the search page with the same photo and compare the top results.
  3. If you want every link, a Starter week at $5 covers five searches; see pricing.
  4. To remove your own face from ProFaceFinder, email them per their opt-out page with your name, the result URLs or screenshots and a statement that you are the person. Opt-outs are per engine; FaceSearch removal is a separate free email on remove my photos.

Questions

01Is ProFaceFinder better than FaceSearch?

We have not tested the two side by side, so we make no results claim. On published terms, ProFaceFinder suits someone who wants one or two searches with no subscription; FaceSearch costs less per search from the first paid week, shows a real first result free, and adds deep search, apps and saved history.

02Is ProFaceFinder free?

The preview is: it checks whether a face was detected and found, and shows blurred thumbnails with an estimated count. Unblurred photos and source URLs need credits, sold at $7.95 for two searches or $11.95 for five on November 6, 2026. FaceSearch's first search is free and shows the top matches unblurred.

03Is ProFaceFinder legal or safe to use?

It states that it indexes only publicly accessible images and does not reach private accounts, and it treats scores as investigative aids rather than proof. Searching your own face is lawful where we operate; searching someone else's face is subject to local law on any engine and to our acceptable use rules here.

04Can I use both?

Yes. Different indexes cover different pages, so for a stolen-photo problem it is reasonable to run both. The free preview on one and the free first search on the other cost nothing.

05Which is cheaper?

For one search, ProFaceFinder's $7.95 two-pack is the smallest possible spend. For five or more searches FaceSearch is cheaper: $5 for a Starter week with five searches and every link, or $20 for a month of Daily Pro with 25 searches a day.

06How do I remove my face from ProFaceFinder?

Email them per their opt-out page with your full name, the result URLs or screenshots showing your images, and a statement that you are the person in them; they say they respond within 7 to 10 business days. It only affects ProFaceFinder. Removal from FaceSearch results is a separate free email.
