FaceCheck.ID alternatives: face search without expiring credits

FaceCheck.ID is strong at one thing: finding a face from social media and dating profiles, even from poor photos, and it shows source links for free. People leave it over credit packs that expire in 14 days, a checkout built around credits, its mugshot and offender framing, and an index that reviewers find narrower than PimEyes. These are the alternatives, ranked and dated.

First search free. No account needed. Updated November 5, 2026 by The FaceSearch Team. Prices checked on November 5, 2026.

Why people look for a FaceCheck.ID alternative

  • Credits that expire. The smallest pack is 150 credits for $19, valid for 14 days, at 3 credits a search. That is 50 searches in two weeks or nothing; unused credits are gone. People who search occasionally would rather pay a small recurring amount.
  • The checkout. Credits are bought in packs rather than as a plan, and the payment options include cryptocurrency alongside the usual methods. Some users simply want a card subscription they can cancel.
  • The framing. The FaceCheck.ID homepage leads with mugshots, sex offenders and "dangerous criminals". Its own disclaimer says a face search alone is unreliable and must not be used for credit, employment, insurance or tenant decisions. Many people want a face search without the true-crime tone.
  • Coverage. Reviewers who compare engines side by side find FaceCheck.ID stronger on social profiles and weaker on the wider open web, where PimEyes finds pages FaceCheck.ID has not indexed. Its own comparison page lists a smaller index among its weaknesses.
  • Speed. Searches are reported to take longer than on other engines; FaceCheck.ID itself lists slower searches as a known trade-off.

What FaceCheck.ID does well

An honest list has to say this. FaceCheck.ID is the engine reviewers reach for when the photo is a blurry dating-app screenshot, a side profile or a cropped group shot. It shows source links on free searches, which PimEyes does not. Its red-flag warnings tell you when a face has already been reported by other users. Its free removal flow is a selfie capture that is usually approved instantly, and it publishes a 20-question FAQ that answers the hard questions about biometrics and scraping directly. It is available in 14 languages. If those are the things you value, the alternatives below are trade-offs, not upgrades.

The alternatives, ranked

Ranked for the most common reason people leave FaceCheck.ID: they want to keep checking faces without buying packs that expire. FaceCheck.ID sits at the end for reference.

  • Ours1. FaceSearchA weekly or monthly plan instead of packs: Starter is $5 a week for five normal and three deep searches with all source links unlocked, and credits renew rather than vanish. Free first search with no account. Public web only, free removal by email, iOS and Android apps. No red-flag database, no alerts, no API.
  • 2. PimEyesThe broadest open-web coverage by most accounts, with alerts and, on PROtect, takedown help. The trade is price: $29.99 a month for Open Plus, $79.99 for PROtect, free searches without source links, and an opt-out that needs an ID scan.
  • 3. Lenso.aiA monthly subscription from $15.99 with a People category, filters, research mode, alerts and an API. Face search is only available in selected regions.
  • 4. Face Search AIThree free searches a day without an account and plans from $7.77 a month. A separate company from FaceSearch despite the name.
  • 5. Yandex ImagesFree, no account, no credits. It matches images rather than faces, but for a photo that has been reposted it is often the best free second opinion.
  • 6. Social CatfishIf what you wanted from FaceCheck.ID was a verdict on a dating profile, Social Catfish sells that as a report: image search with face matching plus phone, email, name and username lookups, on a trial that converts to a monthly subscription.
  • 7. Eyematch.aiA newer face-first engine with a free preview and paid plans. Shorter track record, published opt-out and DMCA routes.
  • 8. Reversely.aiReverse image suite with a face tool, priced at $9.99 per unlocked result. Fine for one check, expensive for ten.
  • 9. Google LensFree, and the first stop for copies of an exact picture. It does not find other photos of the same face.
  • 10. TinEyeFree, image-only, best for tracing a picture's origin and edits. No face matching.
  • 11. Bing Visual SearchFree and image-based. Occasionally useful as a third opinion.
  • 12. Search4FacesFree face search across VK, Odnoklassniki, TikTok and Clubhouse profiles only.
  • 13. ProFaceFinderSmall paid face engine. Try it last.
  • FaceCheck.ID, for referenceCredits at 3 a search, from $19 for 150 valid 14 days. Free searches show source links. Strong on social and dating photos, slower and narrower on the open web, free selfie-verified removal.

How to pick, by job

Checking dating and social profiles

FaceCheck.ID remains a good tool for this, and if the 14-day packs suit how often you date, stay. If you check a profile every week or two, a $5 weekly plan on FaceSearch costs less than a pack you let expire; the catfish check and dating apps guides show what is and is not findable from each app. If you want a written report with phone and email lookups, Social Catfish sells one.

Finding your own photos

A self-search wants the widest open-web coverage you can afford. PimEyes has it at $29.99 a month. FaceSearch has a free first pass, a deep search for a wider sweep, and plans from $5 a week; the find my photos online guide is the walkthrough. Run Yandex as well; it is free.

Tracing a stolen photo

If one specific picture of yours is being reused, start with TinEye and Google Lens. They match the image, including crops and filters, and they are free. Follow with a face engine to find other photos of you that the thief may also have taken.

Research and investigations

FaceCheck.ID's own terms say it must not be used for credit, employment, insurance or tenant decisions, and that applies to every engine here under the laws that govern those decisions. For volume work, FaceSearch Business offers 2,500 normal credits and 50 deep credits a month with take-down help; PimEyes and Lenso.ai offer filters and alerts at higher prices. Treat every match as a lead to corroborate, as our page for journalists and researchers sets out.

If you are leaving FaceCheck.ID

  1. Use any remaining credits before the 14-day window closes. They do not carry over and they are not refunded.
  2. Remove your own face if you want to. FaceCheck.ID's selfie-verified removal is free and usually instant; the steps are in our FaceCheck.ID opt-out guide.
  3. Removal from one engine does nothing for the others. Each engine needs its own request; ours is on Remove my photos.
  4. Run a self-search on the engine you move to, so you know what is visible there.

Questions

01What is the best FaceCheck.ID alternative?

For a subscription with renewing credits and all source links unlocked, FaceSearch (ours) from $5 a week. For the broadest open-web coverage, PimEyes, at a much higher price. For a dating-profile report with phone and email lookups, Social Catfish. For free image matching, Yandex, Google Lens and TinEye.

02Is FaceCheck.ID free?

The search is free and shows source links, which is more than PimEyes shows for free. Buying credits unlocks more results per search. Credits cost from $19 for 150, valid for 14 days, at 3 credits a search, as listed on its buy page on November 5, 2026.

03Do FaceCheck.ID credits expire?

Yes. The smallest pack is valid for 14 days from purchase. Unused credits are lost at the end of the window, which is the main reason occasional users look for a subscription instead.

04Which alternative is best for social media photos?

FaceCheck.ID itself is the engine reviewers favour for public social and dating profile pages. No engine indexes private accounts. FaceSearch covers publicly accessible pages, including public profiles and reposts; our platform guides explain what is findable on Instagram, Facebook, Tinder and the other dating apps.

05How do I remove myself from FaceCheck.ID?

Search for your own face, select the photos, and complete the selfie capture on its Remove My Photos page. Most requests are approved instantly; an anonymised ID document is the fallback and takes 1 to 5 business days. Our guide has the steps. Removal from FaceCheck.ID does not affect other engines or the source websites.

06Is using these engines on other people allowed?

Checking the identity of someone you are dealing with is an ordinary, lawful purpose in the places these engines operate. Employment, tenant, credit and insurance decisions are restricted by law, and FaceCheck.ID's own terms exclude them. Our acceptable use page lists what FaceSearch permits and prohibits.
